This was until i looked at a blog post made by internet marketing expert Matt Carter. He clearly stated that there are two types of keywords that normal customers may enter into google when they search for a product.

The first type could be classified as 'browser' keywords. Say a person wants to go on google to find and buy a TV. There first search may be for "best TV's" and then maybe "plasma TV's". These 'browser' keywords will ultimately arm the customer with a bunch of specific information on certain TV's.

Therefore, the next search they do may be for a far more specific model of TV which could be "Samsung plasma model PS18B8". This search is known as a 'buyer' keyword and is a highly converting search term. This is what you will need to target with your affiliate marketing.

Although you can get high traffic with 'browser' keywords you will not make sales as the customer is not yet ready to make a decision on a product. If you use 'buyer' keywords, the conversion rates will be far greater and will earn you money!

*REMEMBER that although 'buyer' keywords have high conversion rates you still need to do the research necessary to work out if there is enough of a search volume for the product.
